Job Description

As a Software Project Engineer - Gateway Power Propulsion Element (PPE) you will:
- Capture and manage requirements.
- Plan and estimate software releases.
- Conduct system integration and interface management, and coordinate
software testing and verification.
- Review software products and artifacts for completeness of design and implementation.
- Review software development activities across the full development life cycle.
- Develop and maintain software project schedules.
- Coordinate tasking.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications - 
Required Education/Experience/Skills:

- BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and five (5) years of related engineering experience, or
a MS degree from an accredited engineering school and four (4) years of related engineering experience, or Ph.D. from
an accredited engineering school and zero (0) years of related experience.
- Experience in avionics software engineering.
- Software project management experience.
- Experience with project schedule development and maintenance.
- Proficiency with C/C++ coding.
- Proficiency with Linux.
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python.
- Experience working as part of an Integrated Product Team to develop avionic systems.
- Experience developing software across the full development life cycle.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and coordination skills and strong customer service attitude.
Preferences:
- Knowledge of the NASA Gateway Spacecraft systems and software, specifically for the Power and Propulsion Element
(PPE).
- Safety and flight critical software development.
- NASA software and systems development standards.
- ARINC653.
- RTC DO178.
- Object oriented software development.
- Agile software development.
- Core Flight Software (CFS).

Essential Functions
Work Environment
Generally an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs (5%
of time).
Equipment and Machines
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and
adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.
