Job Description

As an Informatics Systems Engineer you will:
- Develop, review, and maintain program requirements and project management documents including Project Technical
Requirements Specification (PTRS), Concept of Operations, Architecture Description, Interface Description Documents
(IDDs), Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Configuration Management Plan.
- Review Program level requirements documents, environments specifications, and design and construction specifications
to determine how they may impact the system.
- Develop INFO subsystem/component requirements, specifications, and subsystem level trade studies and analyses.
- Work in a team environment and report to the team lead to provide status on progress and issues and for support.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications - 
Required Education/Experience/Skills:

- BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and a minimum of fourteen (14) years of direct
engineering experience, or a MS degree from an accredited engineering school and a minimum of twelve (12) years of
direct engineering experience, or a Ph.D. degree and a minimum of nine (9) years direct engineering experience.
- Experience with the development of space systems requirements documents including PTRSs and IDDs, and ICDs.
- Experience with the design, assembly, verification, testing, and operation of space hardware.
- Basic knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as
mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, and design software and
tools.
- Basic knowledge of the design, certification, and analysis of avionics.
- Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
- Experience using 3SL Cradle for the systems engineering process.
Preferences:
- Prior experience/knowledge of requirements, design, and verification of Extravehicular Activity (EVA) hardware such as
the advanced space suit, Portable Life Support System (PLSS), EVA tools, and/or Extravehicular Mobility Unit (EMU).
- Familiarity with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures.

Essential Functions
Work Environment
Generally an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs (5%
of time).
Equipment and Machines
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and
adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.
